Raynaud’s Awareness Month – 1st-28th February
Raynaud’s Phenomenon is a condition thought to affect up to ten million people in the UK and it can be incredibly painful. With Raynaud’s, the small blood vessels in the extremities are over-sensitive to changes in temperature, which can cause a Raynaud’s attack. February is Raynaud’s Awareness Month in which they aim to highlight Raynaud’s and the work of the RSA by asking you to “LOVEyourGLOVES!” February is statistically the coldest month of the year and it is vital to wrap up warm and protect your extremities.
Heart Health – 1st-28th February
Heart disease is the biggest killer of women in Northern Ireland today. Almost 3 times as many women die of heart disease than of breast cancer. It is therefore important to reconsider our wellbeing across a range of lifestyle choices.
Chest Heart and Stroke provide a workplace service that enables you to offer your people a health check onsite. Alternatively, you could designate a day when everyone wears red to raise awareness of heart health.
World Cancer Day – 4th February
Cancer affects so many people across the world and currently 8.2 million people die from cancer worldwide each year. World Cancer Day is the ideal opportunity to spread the word and raise awareness of cancer in people’s minds and the world media. This global event takes place every year on 4 February and aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by encouraging individuals to take action.

World Compliment Day – 1st March
World Compliment Day is about consciously reflecting on what someone you know does well and letting that person know he/she is sincerely appreciated for that. It should be done through words instead of gifts.
Employee Appreciation Day – 3rd March
National Employee Appreciation Day is observed annually on the first Friday in March. This day was created as a way of focusing the attention of all the employers in all industries on employee recognition.
Why not send a thank you note or email to everyone thanking them for their input and support.

No Smoking Day – Wednesday 8th March
Help encourage as many smokers as possible to quit on No Smoking Day. Share information from Want to Stop or organise an in-house smoking cessation programme. Probably one of the most significant way to increase personal wellbeing.
Nutrition and Hydration Week –13th -19th March
This global movement aims to focus on nutrition and hydration as an important part of quality care, experience and safety improvement in health and social care settings.
Visit Vital Nutrition for blogs and healthy recipes or organise a nutrition and hydration event in your workplace.

World Sleep Day – Friday 17th March
Organized by the World Sleep Day Committee of World Sleep Society to lessen the burden of sleep problems on society through better prevention and management of sleep disorders.
